Cabo Destination Wedding at Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach

When one of your weddings is on Martha Stewart's website, it's a good day.

Megan Sherrod and Jeremy Anderson were married in April 2015 at Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach, an all-inclusive, family-friendly property in the Pedregal area of Cabo San Lucas. With crashing waves and dramatic rock formations, this resort was the perfect location for a simple, carefree, and beautiful destination wedding.

Megan and Jeremy value organic, relaxing, modern design. Their home is designed with clean lines and natural colors, and Megan definitely knew her wedding vision would be similar- with a dose of romance. From the pale ocean-blue linens from La Tavola, to the marbled candle-holders at the reception, to the floating chiffon hanging from the ceremony arch, every element was designed to create a calm and clean look, allowing the gorgeous beach location to speak for itself.

The ceremony took place on the Cabo beach directly behind the resort. Because the resort is built into the side of a mountain, there is a large, dramatic stone staircase that led the bride to the ceremony. Bordering the righthand side of the resort beach is a large rock formation, which provided a stunning backdrop for post-ceremony portraits. Near sunset, the light casts a blue-ish hue on the massive stones, and the water crashes against them. It was just perfect with Megan's style vision for the day. You can't out-design nature!

Cocktail hour was sweet and simple, located on the lower level of the sky pool with expansive views of Cabo's desert-like terrain and swelling waves. Servers passed around eclectic small bites including crab cakes and sweet pea samosas.

The reception tables surrounded a dynamic light-up dance floor that was set according to the mood. For toasts and dinner, the lighting was a serene white and blue, and for dancing time, it came to light with all kinds of colors depending on the song! Immediately bordering the dance floor was a rectangular head table, where the bride and groom dined with their best man, maid of honor, and their dates while looking on to the dance floor. Round guest tables surrounded the dance floor, creating a clear focal point for the energy of the evening.

To add a feeling of intimacy to the dance floor, paper lanterns were strung above the center of the reception. The lanterns danced in the wind throughout the night, outdone only by the wedding guests who partied to a solid mix of songs ranging from Jay-Z to Garth Brooks. The party was so good it had to be extended by an hour! At the end of the evening, the couple and their guest sent paper lanterns off into the night sky.
