Castle Destination Wedding Wedding Inspiration
When Dallas's local Haystack film photography group let me know they were seeking a stylist for their next group project, I jumped on it. This group of wildly talented fine art photographers gets together twice a year to socialize and hone their craft, and it’s a treasure to watch them work in tandem! I love how the concept of this group immediately brings to mind Monet's series of Haystack paintings. Each brilliant brush stroke tells a story of dynamic light throughout season and weather changes. How appropriate for a team dedicated to film photography!

We staged this shoot at The Castle at Rockwall, a regal gem tucked away outside the hustle and bustle of Dallas. A palette of emerald, sage, and pale mint combined with warm grays and mixed metals to evoke a regal yet relaxed feeling, similar to the vibe at an Irish or English countryside castle wedding.
This design was built for a refined, artsy bride who wants to wrap her guests in true modern comfort, from the thick velvety linens from La Tavola, to the elegant stemmed glassware from Posh Couture, to the plush lounge area by AFR Event Furnishings.
Dallas and destination wedding florist Jackson Durham provided an explosion of lush floral spilling over with greenery. The centerpiece was comprised of luxurious yet carefree floral design and sleek mirrored candle holders from Z Gallerie, creating a surprising juxtaposition of organic and modern elements.
Elegant long-stemmed wine glasses sparkled against La Tavola’s silver table linens.
I fell in love with the Catherine Deane bridal gown immediately upon seeing it at Neiman Marcus. The bodice is anchored by a thick sparkling back beading echoing a knight’s chainmail, yet the chiffon skirt takes off beautifully in the wind.
The wedding cake consisted of simple gold-topped buttercream with a generous heaping of dripped white icing. Tiny stems of greenery an a passion flower decorated the top tier.
In true UK fashion, emerald green Ted Baker pumps completed the bride’s ensemble.
Thanks to our talented makeup and hair pros, Wendy Zerrudo and Danica Rey, extreme makeup techniques gave the bride and bridesmaids an unapologetic, straight-off-the-runway attitude, yet soft, romantic up-dos and an explosion of cheeky flower girls adorned with floral headpieces kept the concept classic and lighthearted.
Jackson Durham’s lush green and white floral bouquet spilled over with roses, jasmine, and fern.
Thanks so much to all the extraordinary team members who made this possible!
